Meet Anette

I have been intrigued by the complexity of human beings and the pursuit of meaning and happiness as far back as I can remember.

After moving from Sweden to Los Angeles in my late teens, I sought out a path of healing, balance, and growth through various means of studies and practices.

I studied philosophy and psychology in college, and completed part of my degree at Naropa University in Colorado, an Eastern wisdom, Buddhist inspired college, founded by Tibetan Buddhist teacher Chogyam Trungpa.

I further practiced and received training in yoga and meditation from various teachers and schools in Los Angeles and New York City throughout the years.

I eventually came to a cross road in my life when I decided to turn healing and well-being into a profession where I could use my experiences, strengths and hope helping others.

“Much of what we call emotion is nothing more or less than a certain kind—a biased, prejudiced, or strongly evaluative kind—of thought.”
~Albert Ellis

I incorporate philosophy, psychology, and mindfulness into my work.

I went back to school and graduated with a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University in New York. After graduating, my particular interest in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) evolved and I received post-graduate training in REBT from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York.

REBT draws heavily on Greek, Roman, and Eastern philosophy, and I consider myself lucky to be able to integrate my interests of philosophy, psychology, and mindfulness into my professional life working with clients.
